Johann shoots Some Product

This is a pretty rare thing for us. To get in front of the camera.

Often we are shooting or watching others shoot stuff that we make on models. Another words, we are usually “behind the scenes”. Recently Some Product got asked for some promo shots, of which we actually had none! We promptly asked old friend and fantastic photographer Johann Wall to help us out. His studio is a block away from ours and these shots were taken somewhere about half way in between. Johann works fast and with his easy going personality manages to capture those little moments that make for cool pictures…

Favourite Cover Song

The dickies

As a kid I really loved when bands did cover songs, especially when I started going to punk shows. I always wanted to hear some punk band take a classic and totally turn it on it’s head, and create something new. To me that was the most “punk” thing. I always somehow felt deep down, that anything new was in one way or another built on the efforts and shoulders of its predecessors. A good cover was both a mocking and a tribute. Something destroyed and then rebuilt. Recently, I started to think what my favourite covers are and narrowed it down to three of the best.

Devo’s take on the Stones classic “Satisfaction”

Sid Vicious’ beautiful destruction of “My Way”

but my very favourite has got to be The Dickies absolutely stunning and defiant take on The Moody Blues “Nights in White Satin”.

It is pure pop perfection. The Dickies covered a lot of other songs and always managed to be one of the most original and coolest bands to ever come out of Los Angeles.

BTS with Martina+Reem

Having just completed a massive collaboration with Martina+Reem, it is only fitting that we were dying to work on an editorial and a look book with these two generous and talented ladies. Last Sunday was truly a magical day at the beach and we couldn’t have asked for a better team. Without revealing too much, here are some “behind the scenes” images from the shoot.  Stay tuned for more! xo

PEACE OUT MAN

One of our favourite new releases is called “Dark Sixties” and features the artwork of the one and only Aubrey Beardsley. The title refers more to the feel of the design which reminded us of the more dark and mysterious aspects of the “hippie” generation.
